Abstract. It should be noted that the novel "Under the Net" by Iris Murdoch is known not only for its deep philosophical content, but for the skillful use of figurative and expressive means, which gave the novel a bright and lively hue. In this article, an attempt is made to consider the methods of formation of imagery in this work. Although the originality of poetics and the philosophy of "Under the Net" have become the subject of many studies, there are few works that have studied its figurative means. This explains the relevance and choice of the topic.
