BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF (1,2-DISUBSTITUTED)-BENZIMIDAZOLES

Abstract. This article is devoted to analyze the activities of synthesized 1-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-benzimidazole (I) and 1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-benzimidazole (II) against pathogenic fungi. In this case, the synthesized substances were dissolved in DMSO and tested for their fungicidal activity at different concentrations against Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger pathogenic fungi by disk diffusion method. According to the research results, the synthesized 1-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-benzimidazole is effective against the growth of all plant pathogenic fungi while 1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl) -benzimidazole was found to have a weak effect.
