Abstract. This article focuses on the study of Central Asian history in European research centers. The work "Die Legitimierung der mittelasiatischen Mangitendynastie in den Werken ihrer Historiker (18-19 - Jahrhundert)", published by the german-speaking scholar Anke von Kügelgen, is historically analyzed. In the history of the Bukhara Emirate, the legal basis for coming to power is revealed in six different forms.
