Abstract. This article analyzes educational materials on teaching vowel sounds in “Mother tongue” programs and textbooks, problems and solutions of teaching vowel sounds in "Mother tongue" textbooks. This article focuses on the development of methods of formation of literary pronunciation skills in students, as well as the rules of teaching national vowel sounds orthoepically. Also, a partial reaction is given to the opinions of some scientists who conducted scientific research in this direction in the field of methodology
