FOLKLORE TRADITIONS IN MODERN RUSSIAN LITERATURE

Abstract. The report raises the question of the relevance of the study of modern urban folklore by folklorists. The prerequisites for the origin and development of urban folklore, its specific features and fundamental difference from the previous folklore tradition are considered. The development of the main genres of modern urban folklore is traced - ditty, urban romance, song, couplet - in the structure of which features of the "archaic" and "classical" folklore traditions are distinguished. In the study, the author relies on the work of Russian scientists devoted to the culture of the Russian city and analyzes the experience of studying modern urban culture.
