Abstract. The work is devoted to the problem of the formation of the education of the culture of life safety of students. At present, in pedagogical practice, the subject "Fundamentals of Life Safety" occupies one of the most important places among other important subjects in the education system. This is explained by the fact that the study of this course allows the student ophthalmologist to form a conscious attitude towards both personal safety and the safety of others, and also provides an opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to understand and realistically assess dangerous life situations, find ways to protect against them and provide yourself and those around you with the help you need. The quality of training students in the basics of life safety is largely determined by the forms and methods of conducting classes. The search for new, non-traditional forms of education is aimed at giving the educational process greater flexibility, efficiency, freeing it from clichés and overorganization.
