Abstract. This article contains materials about the history of the origin of the sport of gymnastics, the stages of its development, the place of gymnastics in the physical education system of Uzbekistan, its implementation in the state educational standards, the conditions created for this sport in our country, and its achievements. It has been studied that future specialists in the field of physical education will gain significant importance in increasing their knowledge about the history of the origin of the sport of gymnastics and the place of physical education in the education system of our country today.
