Abstract. Acne is a polymorphic multifactorial disease of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands that occurs in 80% of adolescents and young adults. Among the various clinical varieties of acne, acne vulgaris (acne vulgaris) is the most common. This dermatosis affects up to 35% of male adolescents and 23% of females. Only at the age of over 24, this figure drops to 10% and below. Emerson and Straus (1972), examining more than 1000 students aged 15 to 18 years, revealed acne in 80% of them, and both boys and girls suffered equally often.
