Abstract. Hydrogel is a synthetic polymer with high water permeability, which allows to store a large amount of moisture in the soil for a long time. Water that enters the soil through atmospheric precipitation or irrigation is stored in the hydrogel in a state where it easily passes to the roots of plants and is released when the plant needs water.
