One of the effective ways to help the students to attain these thinking skills is teachers’ questions. The teachers’ questions, to some extent, can stimulate the students’ thinking process. The purpose of this study was to analyze HOTs in the test questions constructed by the English teachers. This study used a qualitative content analysis design. The data resources of this study were the test questions designed by two different junior high school teachers. The data were collected from the question items in the teacher-made tests and were analyzed following revised Bloom’s taxonomy framework. The results of this study show that the test questions made by the teachers require more HOTs-type questions because the tests are mainly LOTs-type questions. The majority of the test questions cover understanding questions (50%), followed by remembering (42.5%), analyzing (3.75%), evaluating (2.5%), and creating (1.25%). Unfortunately, no test item is classified as applying question. Based on the results, it shows that the test questions made by the teacher lack HOTs-type questions.

In today's educational world learning English language is being considered one of the most important aspects to pay attention. The first thing in language learning and teaching that comes to our mind is methods, or approaches which maintains easy and right way to acquire knowledge. CLIL is one of useful approaches where students learn a subject and a second language at the same time. A science course, for example, can be taught to students in English and they will not only learn about science, but they will also gain relevant vocabulary and language skills. It’s important to note that CLIL is not a means of simplifying content or reteaching something students already know in a new language. CLIL courses should truly integrate the language and content in order to be successful – and success is determined when both the subject matter and language is learned. In this article, I am going to state general information about CLIL and its advantages in foreign language teaching.

The scope of the category of modality in linguistics is extremely wide and is the object of the research, reflecting the rich aspects of communication. The concept of modality is considered as a category of meaning that expresses the attitude of a speaker to the content of the spoken word, to reality, that is, the objective reality is reflected in the mind of a speaker, and it expresses its attitude with the help of various semantic categories. The category of modality is widely used in lexicology, phraseology, word formation, morphology and linguistics of the text. The presence of wide possibilities in the manifestation of the modal category, of course, indicates that this category is a universal phenomenon and its study is of great importance for understanding the essence of a language construction. In this article, the author analyzes the relationships of the language to the most complex and comprehensive category of modality in English and Uzbek, as well as the expression of the category of modality. Also, the examples analyzed in Gafur Gulam's story "A Naughty Boy" clearly show the diversity of attitudes towards this category.

This article describes the species composition and practical significance of the blister beetles in the natural areas of northeastern Uzbekistan. As a result of the research, it was found that the number of species of blister beetles in the studied areas is 7. Larvae of species of the family Meloidae feed on harmful locust eggs, reducing their number to 31.5%.
